  • Two 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 Parmesan rind, optional, plus grated Parmesan, for serving
  • Cooked spaghetti, for serving
  • Chopped fresh basil, for serving
