How to Cook Steak in the Crockpot
I love going out to a well renowned steak house for a filet mignon and an evening out. But, more times than not, grabbing a filet or strip from the butcher shop and throwing it on the grill for a night in is what I want more! There are many days when you are tired, the weather isn’t cooperating, or you’re simply just an Empress that doesn’t know how to fire up the grill! That’s when you pull out your old handy crockpot to do all the work for you! This crockpot steak featuring Peter Luger Steak House Sauce will have your tastebuds feeling like they are in New York! It will also wow your man, because you just made him steak! Now, here’s a full disclosure, Empresses and Emperors. I know this crockpot steak with Peter Luger Sauce recipe is going to be very taboo for many of you. I see you shaking your heads right now, thinking to yourself, “crockpot steak”??? I know, it’s hard to wrap your brain around, because steak is meant to be grilled or cooked on the stovetop. Trust me, I get it, but I’m here to help my Empresses cook a meal that will have their men so happy that they got steak for dinner! Is it really possible to create a flavorful, juicy and tender steak in a crockpot that doesn’t have flame? Read on to find out!!!I’m not going to lie, this is not a steak that will ever compete with a fancy established steak house like Peter Luger, but it will give a girl super bonus points with her man. I did several attempts at this crockpot steak before I got it right and it is definitely Fred approved. The longer you cook it the more well done it will become and a pink center will be hard to achieve. I recommend only cooking for an hour or so until desired temperature is reached. You can use a meat thermometer to check or simply cook for two to three hours and not think twice about even having to check! Easy enough for even those who don’t know their way around a kitchen!
Fred loves Peter Luger Steak House and their famous sauce, because of the distinct flavor of horseradish. I am excited to try this with other brands of steak sauce, too. That’s the beauty of this recipe. Just add in a few steaks, two bottles of your favorite steak sauce or the recipe for the best ever steak marinade ever (you can get the recipe here) into the crockpot, and you will have a special night in only a few hours! All you have to do is provide the atmosphere! What is your favorite brand of steak sauce and which one will you choose to cook crockpot steak? As always, let me know if you try it and how you like it!
